The HR Division encourages both empirical and theoretical submissions. Furthermore, we encourage submissions that are consistent with the Division's ongoing interest in research that bridges the science/practice gap and/or concerns the conference theme for 2022: "Creating a Better World Together". The theme calls on us to develop insights into the new and evolving normal for business organizations – specifically addressing questions related to how business organizations will adapt – and how stakeholders’ expectations for these organizations will continue to evolve – in the face of increasing concerns about environmental degradation, inequality, and poverty – all as the world continues to find its way through a global pandemic. This year’s theme pushes us to dig into questions related to the distinct skills and capabilities that will be required of organizations, managers, and employees as we navigate a new normal; the opportunities for business organizations to engage with various stakeholders to anticipate and respond to issues of global concern; and the implications of the global pandemic, social unrest, and broader devastation brought on over last two years for how we think about the future of work. In sum, this year’s theme asks us what, where, how, when, and why will business organizations, managers, and stakeholders seek to adapt to what exists or create a world in which we will all be better off together?
HR scholars should be well-positioned to examine these important issues and offer actionable insights for addressing many of these challenges. We encourage submitters of scholarly papers and symposia to consider, yet not be bound by, this year's conference theme. Please see more details about the theme at: https://aom.org/events/annual-meeting/annual-meeting-theme
